Disney Wish undocks for Disney Cruise Line

news-details

The newest member of the Disney Cruise Line fleet, the Disney Wish, was moved from Baudock II to the shipyard this Friday. After the Disney Fantasy (2012) and the Disney Dream (2010), it is the third ship that MEYER WERFT is building for the world's largest entertainment group.

The Disney Wish will set new industry standards, including in digital media, stage technology and will be the first of three new Disney ships to feature low-emission LNG propulsion.

Members of the shipyard project team, the shipping company and representatives from Disney Cruise Line were present to celebrate the maneuver in maritime tradition. The two project managers Philip Gennotte, portfolio project management executive at Disney Cruise Line, and Henning Stellermann, project manager at MEYER WERFT, were also there. Captain Minnie Mouse even assisted the captain and the tugs by witnessing the maneuver and welcoming the Disney Wish as it exited the dockyard.

“We are pleased to have reached a further step towards the completion of the ship with the undocking. It will then be the fifth ship that MEYER WERFT will have delivered during the corona pandemic. We are convinced that the Disney Wish will surprise the cruise industry and Disney fans with a number of special features," says Jan Meyer, Managing Director of MEYER WERFT.

The new ship for Disney Cruise Line has 1,250 cabins and a gross tonnage of 144,000
